Home Furnishings, Interior Design and Spring 2009 Market Trends
Metallic accents are everywhere. The shiny, fun finish is seen used to enhance and embellish with fabrics and leathers on upholstery, mirrors, lamps, and wallpapers. This embellishment is used quite often on accent tables and case good finishes.
As far as embellishments go, interior design is becoming more more fashion forward. Many details used in the fashion industry are making their way to the interior design world. Ruffles, Swarovski crystals, beading, and even butterfly accents are just a few fun details used to add that extra special touch you may be missing.
A fresh new outlook on color is always exciting. Touching base on a few color trends that are making it big include earthy purples, charcoal grey to light glass-like grey hues, and intense greens. While blue is not yet going anywhere, it has however undergone a slight makeover. Becoming much more intense, rich royal blue and crisp airy blue will take place of the spa-like blue tones that were popular for quite awhile.
Last but not least, the always-popular "green design" is definitely in vogue. Many companies are enthusiastic aobut making their product better for the environment as well as for you and me. You can find eco-friendly products almost anywhere. Being "green" may include choosing to use fabrics such as cotton, hemp, or silk; energy-efficient lighting played a major role this market also. Many furniture companies are now using soy based foam for their upholstery inserts and choosing recycled materials for their packaging needs.
These are just a few ideas shown at the Spring 2009 International Furnishings Convention in High Point, NC. Contact Johnathan Blake Home Decor to have these details added to your home or business.
